Hello, recently I took a short trip south of Glacier National Park, to and area commonly known as, "the front." Or more specifically, the Rocky Mountain Front where the Rockies meet the prairie . . . It's one of my favorite places but I seldom get down there. Ironically, it's one of my favorite landscapes in North America and it's only 40 miles away . . .
Things are warming up a bit here. Temperatures have not been below freezing in two days and it's knocking on 50 degrees right now! With warm temperatures comes wind. . . I'll take the wind for a few days of above freezing temps in the middle of January! Who would have guessed . . . teens in Florida and 50 in Montana . . . climate change, huh?
On another note, this image of the Badger Two Medicine, an area critical to the ecological connectivity between the Bob Marshal Wilderness area - the region in the "Walling Reef" image above - and Glacier National Park, has gotten some attention lately because the USFS ban all motorized vehicles and some are very very upset about it. The image below is the "Badger Two Medicine" and was recently selected to be given away as a fine art print, to four people responsible for working to get the Badger Two Medicine area protected from continued abuse.
In a final note, one of my images was selected to be on the cover of the 2010 "Glacier Country" travel guide, here's the cover. . .
Have a great week!
Tony
